about

Teresita Fernandez is internationally renowned for immersive installations and evocative sculptures that explore experiences of space, light, and perception. Made with polished stainless steel, aluminum, glass, onyx, magnets, and raw graphite, Fernandez’s abstract sculptures incorporate reflection and shadow in luminous formations that suggest natural phenomena. Curated by David Louis Norr, Chief Curator and organized by the USF Contemporary Art Museum Institute for Research in Art, Tampa, this exhibition presented a spectrum of the artist’s work over the previous five years. Featured were three large-scale sculptures, five wall works, a monumental 40-foot long wall drawing, and three graphie wall reliefs. "Blind Landscape" was also shown at USF Contemporary Art Museum in Tampa, FL, and The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, TX. This exhibition was generously underwritten by Toby Devan Lewis.
